CVTC implemented a Kentico CMS powered website to deliver a better and more search-friendly experience for current and prospective students. The CVTC team identified the objective of search optimization, especially for course description pages, to ensure that students and professors could find the content they needed with ease.

The search functionality on the CVTC website was also highly technical and very difficult to manage. CVTC needed a user-friendly search interface with easily modifiable search results. Search also needed to integrate with CVTC’s existing Kentico CMS and provide improved search analytics.
Our Approach
High Monkey configured Funnelback Search to deliver results that displayed custom metadata fields for ‘Additional Information’ such as dates, news items, and related programs or certificates. Search results were also customized to deliver ‘Best of’ and featured results using content blocks within the CVTC website. The Kentico API was used to push content into Funnelback Search.
Accessibility & Inclusive Design
The design aesthetic for search and results was kept consistent between Funnelback Search and content pages managed in CVTC’s Kentico CMS. High Monkey created a Kentico custom web part to deliver the Funnelback search page and its functionality within Kentico.
